新闻报导员刘永泰有个幸福家庭，与妻女感情要好，不过因一次意外，几乎害死了他们一家。事缘心理学家李天毅教授来港期间，被刘妻发现他强奸少女至死，天毅受审期间畏罪上吊而死。李妻知道此事后，扮作家佣潜入刘家，负责照顾刘的女儿及打理家务。起初李妻表现甚佳，得到刘家的人信任，刘家的人视李妻为家中一份子，却不知她其实包藏祸心。李妻渐渐露出原形，不但教坏刘的女儿，更借机勾引永泰，想夺去刘家女主人的地位，虽然事败，但却令永泰夫妻关系紧张，刘家开始不像过去那么安乐。后来永泰夫妻终发现李妻的身份，但已太迟，李妻狂性大发，要杀害刘的妻女，幸得邻居帮忙，才得以将她收拾，最后堕楼身亡。
